About the Branch
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), founded by civil engineers for civil engineers in 1852, is a dynamic member-driven organization dedicated to the advancement of the profession. Through the dedicated volunteer service of its members, the ASCE has become the world's largest engineering society, with over 133,000 members.
The ASCE New Jersey Section is located in region 1 and has 3 branches: North, Central, and South. The Central Jersey Branch consists of ~7 counties in New Jersey; Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset, and a portion of Burlington County (North of Spur Route 528 and east of US Route 206). Central Jersey has over 1500 registers members! The New Jersey Section and its Branches share the vision of the society, but on a local level.
The Central Jersey Branch runs technical webinars throughout the year, where guess viewers earn Professional Development Hours (PDHs). The Branch is continuing to expand its knowledge in engineering and professionalism through different meetings and events.
There is also a Younger Member Group that runs social gatherings, professional events, and student chapter seminars. The YMG orchestrates events with the local student chapters, such as Rutgers University and The College of New Jersey.
